THE T. OSCAR FULTZ FELLOWSHIP AWARD

PURPOSE

This award is the highest award given by the GMCA next to that of the immediate past president of the association. The criteria for this award are exceptional life-time contributions to the association and to the control and study of mosquitoes.

PRESENTATION

The award will be presented at the annual meeting banquet.

Members who have been honored and are a Fultz Fellow will receive the following:

  • Plaque (individual);
  • Name on the T. Oscar Fultz Fellowship Award plaque;
  • Recognition at the yearly meeting banquet (as a Fellow);
  • First in line at banquet;
  • Life-time membership to the association.

NOMINATIONS FOR AWARD

For a person to be eligible for this award an in-depth letter must be submitted no later than the July meeting of the Board of Directors. The president will name three members of the current Board of Directors or past presidents to serve on the election committee.

This award does not have to be given every year and must be held in its highest distinction, not to be given lightly.

If there is more than one name submitted the three members of the selection committee must narrow them down to one name and make the selection known only to the president and secretary/ treasurer so the plaques can be ordered.

NOTICE: It is with great sadness that I report the loss of one of the pioneers of mosquito control, T. Oscar Fultz, Jr. He passed away Sunday morning, Jan. 13, 2013.

Below is an announcement that was sent to the AMCA. It does not even begin to touch on all of his accomplishments and how well respected he was. Suffice it to say that he will be deeply missed.
